It’s always good when a person decides to solve nutritional problems and get rid of the harmful factors that surround them. At the very least, a healthy lifestyle improves health and well-being, gives you extra energy, and protects you from many risks.
But it’s very bad when a person starts to focus on trends and lose themselves in the pursuit of perfection. Moving towards an ideal state is great. However, focusing exclusively on the “ideal” is a road to nowhere. In fact, we are surrounded by so many “harmful factors” that it is unrealistic to avoid them all. And if you constantly live in this awareness and tension, the only “result” that you can guarantee is neurosis.
The threat is everywhere. And you should accept it
Let’s imagine the way of thinking of a person who is obsessed with the ideal of a healthy lifestyle: “What’s the point of eating right, taking tests, drinking dietary supplements if I: buy water in plastic bottles / bake chicken in a bag / live in an apartment with laminate and PVC panels…” (the list is endless).
I do not want you to strive to make your life perfect at any cost. There is at least one reason for this: many of you, not being able to follow all the recommendations of the Healthy Lifestyle, will perceive this as your own defeat. Why do you need new reasons for injury? I advise you to follow the following line of behavior:
Always evaluate every action through the prism of your state at the time. This applies to anything: starting a new diet, nutraceutical correction, choosing new dishes, etc.
Most of us live in apartment buildings. What surrounds us? PVC windows, laminate flooring, plastic ceilings, synthetic curtains, radiation exposure… So let’s face it: we can’t get rid of all the toxins around us. Some of the elements or devices that contain them make our lives more comfortable – they are a tribute to our modern lifestyle and professional development. But if we focus on each threat separately, it will do no good.
So we have to keep the balance. You need energy, so you need to learn how to renew it, distribute it, and spend it properly.
Healthy lifestyle: How do you realize that you have done the most for yourself?
The task is this: to determine that your detoxification organs can handle the load you are giving them. Here’s a simple checklist to make sure you’re doing everything right:
- You wake up in the morning refreshed.
- You have clear skin without breakouts.
- Your urine is bright yellow in color.
- You have no swelling (or it disappears within half an hour after waking up).
- After eating, you do not experience any unpleasant symptoms: belching, bloating, heartburn, pain.
If the answer to all the points is YES, then you are doing enough for yourself and there is no point in picking on your lifestyle and diet. If the answer is NO, then you need to work on finding the sources of the problems and correct them together with a qualified nutritionist.
Personal experience
Sometimes, I use parchment to bake food instead of glassware, which is a much healthier, but less easy alternative. This is not part of my daily rituals, so I see no reason to panic. In addition, I personally do not have any genetic diseases or health conditions that could be contraindications for such actions.
I think you get the idea:I advise you to form a personalized lifestyle – not a book-perfect lifestyle (because it is impossible a priori) – but simply a healthy and comfortable one for you.And remember: if you track your every step and limit your every action, will you have time and inspiration for the small and big joys of life?
